Multi Machine Render in After Effects
Speeding up After Effects renders can be done in several ways- one of them is using available machines over the network that share the render load and reduce render time by utilizing all available computing power. This is done easily with the Render Brain extension with a few simple steps, and this is how:
1. Add to the Render Queue
Just is any other render- you can drag compositions from the project panel directly to the Render Queue or select a composition and select the menu command Composition->Add to Render Queue. Remember to set the output module and output location.
2. Select the Network Renderer option
On Render Brain’s panel, select from the render engine drop down the Network Render Node option. Also make sure you select the amount of jobs so that maximum network machines will have something to render
3. Select Network Machines and Launch
Press the Render Button (the big brainy button), and after Render Brain will finish saving the job project files a distribution window will appear. In this window, select the machines you wish to use for the render and press the render button at the bottom of the window.
4. Monitor the renders
While you sit back and relax or continue to work on your machine you can monitor and control the renders on remote machines with the Render Brain Jobs panel. You can watch the progress of renders, stop renders with the stop button and go to the rendered movie file with the folder button that will appear with any finished render.
